CM-Blog Circle-March 2013-Interesting Perspectives

March's blog circle theme was "Interesting Perspectives". Getting up high...getting down low....spinning around...not your average stand and take the shot...that's what this month was all about. This is MY life...told the way I see it. My view. My loves. At the bottom of the post.. There is a link to check out the rest of the blog circle..Follow the links until you get back to mine.

I had the awesome idea (I thought it was awesome...my husband not so much) to try and take a spinning shot. I wanted my husband to hold hands with my oldest daughter and spin in a circle. So...I convinced him to let me get on his back and tried to hold the camera steady...while I was holding on to him with my legs...while we are all spinning in a circle.....I ended up hitting myself in the head with the camera. Trying to get a "in focus" picture was to say the very least...a HUGE challenge. I ended up with ONE. but....even the not "in focus ones".. I love anyway. We did this in the backyard...I'm pretty sure our neighbors thing we're crazy. My husband rocks by the way....I'm one lucky gal.

Sophia, my oldest daughter, has really been showing interest in photography. These pictures below are hers. What better perspective than that of a child...Through their eyes. She never ceases to surprise me....I watched her lay down on her belly to get the dog shots...and get on their level....making the perspective interesting....I am one proud mama to say the least.

Allison-Spring Session-Northeastern NC Photographer

This past week, I got the chance to hang out with Allison. She is too cute for her own good! I was beyond excited when her mom wanted the session to be at their house and around their neighborhood. I big puffy heart LOVE at home lifestyle sessions...how real can you get?! In your own environment...you are already relaxed and at ease. Not to mention... it made for some great bribing (I'm so not above a good bribe). So the bribe might have been.. Let's take some really awesome pictures outside.. and then we get to go play in your room. SCORE! It worked...We danced, rolled around on the grass and yelled "pickle...ice cream...boogie dance....hippo" at random.

BFF Session-- Lauren and Krystal--Northeastern NC Photographer

This was one of my favorite sessions so far. Seriously...These two girls are so much freakin fun! Lauren and Krystal are best friends and I could tell this the moment they got out of the car. Nonstop talking...joking...singing..dancing. Yes... All of the above took place during our shoot.. and it was awesome! It made for some truly geniune smiles, laughs and sweet moments. These smiles were the real deal not the cheesy ones. The girls picked two outfits out..one that coordinated with each other and the other one that was unique to them (that would show their personality). I thought they did an awesome job! Both of them are gorgeous and incredibly sweet! It should be a crime to be both. Enjoy feasting your eyes on two beauties....my favorites are below.

CM-February 2013 Full Circle-Food Photgraphy

You might be wondering why the heck I'm taking pictures of food. I'm part of a awesome group of women who all belong to Clickin Moms. We have a blog circle and have challenges each month.
This months challenge was food photography.
I thought it was going to be a breeze. In my mind, I was going to whip up all the beautiful pintrest recipes.. channel my inner Paula Deen.. and make your mouth water with beautifully photographed food. Did it happen?? Just keep reading...
First of all, I am just about the messiest cook you ever will meet. Ingredients strode all over the place... salt and pepper everywhere...forks...spoons.... For one meal.. I dirty at least 5-6 dishes if not more. This becomes a problem for whoever has to clean up after dinner. In our house.. there is one rule (that I LOVE).. It is... If you cook the food, someone else does the dishes.
So let's just be honest here. My food may taste great.. but it ain't pretty...and If we're going to be really honest with each other.. I don't cook often at all. So I found this months challenge of photographing food really hard! But...I did learn that food photography is all about details and presentation....and I enjoyed it. Can't wait to see what next months challenge is! Scroll to the bottom of this page.. and you will find a link to Mickisha's blog :)

Steph--Mini Session--Northeastern NC Photographer

If I could choose one genre that I would like to specialize in when it comes to photography.. It would be Seniors. Seniors are...fun.. full of life.. stylish...and awesome to work with.. and did I mention stylish?? and fun?? I just love them! They are totally down to walk through mud and climb over vines to get an awesome shot..
For just that reason..I put out a model search to anyone interested in a junior/senior mini session. I was super excited when Steph said she'd love to do it! From there we emailed back and forth talking about location, what to wear, time of day and narrowed down a date. She emailed me a couple of pictures of her outfits that she had picked out... and that helped me pick out a location (that complimented her style).. which is awesome by the way :)
Steph is a Junior at one of the local high schools and plays volleyball. She has killer long legs.. beautiful blue eyes and did I mention her hair?? Long.. Dirty Blonde.. and oh so pretty! But putting looks aside.. She is so sweet, easy going and has a great head on her shoulders. On more than one occasion while shooting and talking with her.. I found myself smiling behind the camera...She just has that personality that makes you constantly smile :)

Senior Pictures should be a reflection of who you are right now.. your style..your passions..your excitement about beginning a new chapter.
