Cooper turns 1--Lifestyle Family Session-OBX--Northeastern NC Photographer

These are my California loves. Thankfully they are totally blessed with great and flexible jobs and they are able to come back to NC often. So I have been able to capture Cooper growing and am able to be a part of his life and document the love this family has. Sasha and I go way back...back when we had bad hair and different boyfriends every week. We spent all day at the beach and then ended the day on the Avalon Pier for a family session. The cake smash is celebrating Coopers 1'st birthday...and we really got some strange looks out on the pier during it. But I am really in love with how these pictures turned out. So very lifestyle...So very life as is. This is the family I love. Enjoy.

You know that saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...I kept hearing that over and over again in my head while thinking about this challenge.What I may thing is ugly...to you may be the most beautiful thing in the world. To me...The more rusty...old...torn and worn down something is... the COOLER it is. This goes hand in hand with scouting locations for sessions. One of my favorite ally's in town has all of the above.... so most of these pictures were taken there.

 

 Every week when I showcase a local boutique's clothing...I see this little guy in the window next door. I always look forward to seeing him. He totally fits into the beautiful ugly category.

 We went on a 2nd grade field trip to the VA. Aquarium and I couldn't help but think about these two animals being perfect for the beautiful ugly theme.

 AND....My most favorite favorite favorite Rainbow sandals. They are UGLY and tore the heck up... but to me they are BEAUTIFUL. They symbolize comfort... and I'm not getting rid of them. Ever.

T's Lifestyle Cake Smash Session-Northeastern NC Photographer

I can't tell you enough how much I LOVE lifestyle sessions. What is a lifestyle session? To me...It is a more documentary style approach that captures your kid in their own environment. Less posed pictures.. MORE real life stuff. As a parent...I want to remember life as it truly is...mess and all. When you do pictures at your house...kids are more relaxed and not to mention you have fast access to drinks..snacks...diaper changes....bathtubs...toys...it could not be more perfect.

This is my most recent lifestyle session with T. He is such a handsome baby boy with the best personality EVER.. This big boy just turned 1. I can't thank this awesome family for allowing me into their home to document his beautiful life.
